MATCHDAY PREVIEW

There are two changes for the Rabbitohs, with Michael Chee Kam replacing Keaon Koloamatangi who is out with a leg injury, while Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson returns on the wing, pushing Taane Milne to the reserves. Liam Martin has aggravated his hamstring injury, with Scott Sorensen coming back into the starting side and Lindsay Smith onto the bench.

It was a polar opposite weekend for these two sides, with the Rabbitohs scoring 30 unanswered points in the second half to set up their big win over the Dolphins. The Panthers were nowhere near their best in a clash against the Knights, but managed a one-point golden point win, thanks to two late field goals from Nathan Cleary.

This match is the second time the Panthers and Rabbitohs have met this season, with the Panthers enjoying a 16-10 victory after a late comeback effort from South Sydney. It was a scrappy effort from the Rabbitohs, who completed at just 68%, but they will take confidence away from being able to hang in with their opponents.

Both Latrell Mitchell and Dylan Edwards are two of the form fullbacks in the competition and that battle will be thrilling to watch. Mitchell was a massive part of the Rabbitohs win once again, running in a try and try assist, as well as six tackle breaks, a line break and two line break assists. Edwards is averaging 188m per game, and remains one of the NRL’s best support players.
