Here’s a look at some of the interesting numbers associated with the 2023 NRL premiership season.

3: Number of wins for interim coaches Ryan Carr (Dragons) and Jim Lenihan (Titans) after the sackings of Anthony Griffin and Justin Holbrook respectively.

4: Number of consecutive Grand Finals the Penrith Panthers have appeared in – this is the most by any club since the Melbourne Storm (2006-2009).

6: Number of times a team was kept to nil in 2023 – New Zealand Warriors (0-14 vs Sydney Roosters, round 9), Wests Tigers (0-20 vs South Sydney Rabbitohs, round 11; 0-74 vs North Queensland Cowboys, round 18), Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs (0-66 vs Newcastle Knights, round 18), Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks (0-28 vs Penrith Panthers, round 22) and Melbourne Storm (0-26 vs Brisbane Broncos, week 1 finals)

8: Number of times the Broncos scored more than 30 points in a game in 2023. Cronulla, Melbourne, and the Panthers were next best with 7 times.

9: Number of consecutive wins by the Knights to elevate themselves from 14th after 17 rounds, to 5th at the end of the regular season.

10: Number of consecutive losses by the Tigers between round 14 and round 24 this year.

21: Number of rounds it took for the Roosters to break the 30-point barrier in 2023. They scored more than 30 points in three consecutive games at the back end of the season, from round 24-26 to finish the season strong.

40: Number of years since any team in the NSWRL, ARL and NRL have won three consecutive titles, being Parramatta in 1981-1983.

122: The North Queensland Cowboys turnaround from their first match with the Tigers (lost 66-18) to their return match (won 74-0).

193: Number of try assists for Dylan Edwards in 2023.

741: Number of points the Panthers scored overall in 2023 to win the premiership, edging out the Broncos (731).

1,095: Number of points scored at Suncorp Stadium in 2023, helped by the duel occupancy of the Broncos and Dolphins, along with the Magic Round which saw 328 points scored.

9,646: Number of points scored in the 2023 season with 9,272 scored in the regular season and 374 in the NRL finals series. This was 6% up on the 2022 season where 8,724 points were scored with 411 of those in the NRL finals series.

4,005,089: Number of patrons to attended 204 NRL matches in 2023 at an average of 19,633 per game. 329,255 attended the NRL finals series.
