MATCHDAY PREVIEW

The Titans are unchanged for this clash following their win over the Dolphins in round 21. AJ Brimson has been listed in the reserves and could be a late call up.

Corey Oates returns to the wing in place of Selwyn Cobbo for Brisbane, while Brendan Piakura is also back after missing last week through injury, with Kobe Hetherington shifting back to the bench.

The Broncos’ season hit a new low last week, going down in a 41-16 demolition at Suncorp Stadium against the Bulldogs, who ran in 24 straight points to kick off the second half. Brisbane have now lost six of their past seven matches and this most recent loss makes their finals chances even slimmer, an extremely disappointing season after coming so close to premiership glory last year.

For the Titans, after a slow start to the year, they have found some form towards the back end of the season. They come into this match having won five of their past eight, a record began back in round 12 with a thrilling 36-34 win over the Broncos. Jayden Campbell is in career best form in the halves, while Keano Kini has been a revelation at fullback, which forces the question of where Brimson fits into this side.

With Gold Coast sitting on the same number of points as the Broncos, finals seems unlikely in 2024, but there is still plenty of time to build momentum towards next season. Both sides have struggled with their defence at various times this year, so it looks likely that this could be a high scoring affair.

The Titans remain unpredictable but against a Broncos side that is really struggling for form, they have a great opportunity to get another win over big brother.
