MATCHDAY PREVIEW

The Dragons come into this Sunday afternoon clash against the Titans with their season on the line, needing to keep notching wins to stay in the hunt for a hotly contested finals spot. The Dragons sit perched in ninth but only outside the eight on points differential while the Titans sit two wins outside the eight and would need a minor miracle to feature in finals calculations.

The Dragons come into this clash with some question marks over the man who dons the six jersey with Kyle Flanagan copping a 4 games suspension for his dangerous contact on Bulldogs captain Stephen Crichton in their 28-10 loss. Flanagan has provided a steady partner for Ben Hunt and his absence leaves a spot for most likely the experienced Jack Bird to fill or Shane Flanagan may opt to hand a debut to 19-year-old Lyhkan King-Togia who sits on the extended bench.

The high-flying Titans fantastic recent form came crashing down to earth as they were demolished by a red-hot Sharks side 44-0 in their last start and will be looking for a much-improved effort as they look to keep their already very slim finals hopes alive. Halfback Kieran Foran celebrates his 300th game in the NRL and the veteran half has found himself in some great individual form since he switched to the seven jersey and will hope to cap of his milestone game with another win.

Two excitement machines feature at the fullback positions as Tyrell Sloan and Keano Kini lock horns. Both teams’ fullbacks possess incredible footwork and speed and only need an inch of space to prove an attacking threat. Line speed on kick chases as well as preventing offloads will be key defensive focuses for both sides as these dynamos can blow a game wide open in a flash.
