Luke Laulilii is back on the wing, with Solomon Aliamalo left out of the side. Reuben Porter has been dropped to the reserves, with Alex Seyfarth taking his spot in second row and Sione Fainu joining the bench.
There is only one change for the Rabbitohs as Tallis Duncan comes into the starting side for the injured Michael Chee Kam, with Jacob Host the new man on the bench.
The Rabbitohs were competitive in a 28-16 loss to the Storm last week, coming back from a 26-4 deficit early in the second half to make a more respectable scoreline. After a slight midseason burst, the side has crashed back down to earth coming into this match on the back of three straight losses. South Sydney’s last win was back in Round 20, in a 42-28 triumph also against the Tigers.
The Tigers’ season has been an absolute disaster, having won just four games, including losing their past seven in a row, as they approach their third straight wooden spoon. They hung tough early on against the Knights last week, but a flurry of four tries in 15 minutes from Newcastle proved the difference in the 34-18 loss.
All the stats points to a Rabbitohs win, as Souths have won eight of the past nine matches between the two sides, while Tigers have only won one of their past 11 games at Campbelltown.
One of the major bright spots for the Tigers this year has been the emergence of young half Lachlan Galvin, and they will need him at his best if they are any chance of coming away with the win. The Rabbitohs should, however, be too good against the struggling last-placed Tigers.
