Kane Elgey
This deal would be an unusual one because he’d be coming from the Titans, the club Tyrone Roberts also came from.
At 24 years of age, Elgey is off contract at the end of 2018 and is looking for a move to Super League to readjust his career. 14 tries in 37 games from the scrum half position isn’t bad going by anyone’s standards.
Jackson Hastings
Hastings 22, playing for Manly in the NRL. Jackson has been told that he is surplus to requirements at the Sea-Eagles from 2019 so he is a player who is looking for a new club.
Hastings has undoubted talent and potential and has been linked with a move to Huddersfield in recent times. Could Warrington’s interest compromise that deal and encourage this young man to cross the Pennines and make a home closer to the north-west? Only time will tell.
Blake Austin
Austin has been rumoured to be signing for the Leeds Rhinos but with other NRL clubs lining up moves for the 27-year old, Blake Austin is more than likely going to be remaining in Australia.
He has vast experience playing at the top level with Canberra for most of his career and would be an exciting choice if the Wire were to take a punt on him. His wages would likely be large, but it seems that, under the current regime, spending big in key positions is the key to achieving success going forward.
So who takes over?
It appears that there are plenty of players capable of filling Tyrone Roberts’ boots. Kyle Eastmond seems to be the obvious choice, but is wouldn’t surprise anyone if another man on this list claimed the seven jersey as their own.
