MATCH SUMMARY

Both sides came into the derby looking to follow up on last weekends victories.

The game was closely fought, but it was the visitors who broke the deadlock. Harvey Livett powered over and after being sent up to the video referee, the try was awarded.

Five minutes later the west side of Hull struck back. Jake Connor darted through a gap close to the Robins line. Marc Sneyd converted to give the hosts a 6-4 lead inside 15 minutes.

Rovers took the lead against when Australian Full-back Adam Quinlan utilised an overlap on the right side and was able to get between Adam Swift and Josh Griffin. Jamie Ellis converted to get the underdogs a 10-6 lead.

However, once again Lee Radfordโ€™s side hit back. Marc Sneydโ€™s grubber kick wasnโ€™t dealt with by Hull KR and on his 350th club appearance, Danny Houghton grounded dived on the ball to score. Sneyd converted to give Hull a 12-10 lead at the break.

The second half started much like the first, a close contest. The lead changed hands yet again when Hull KR produced a cross-field team move.

Shaun Kenny-Dowell broke through the line before the Robins spread the ball to the left, Ben Crookes was able to touch down in the corner before Ratu Naulago stopped him. Ellis converted to give the visitors a 16-12 lead.

Hull struck back when Josh Griffin broke through the Hull KR defence, he passed to Sneyd who despite being to fall, was able to complete the try. He converted his own kick to give Hull a two-point lead with 25 minutes left.

Just under ten minutes later, Griffin near broke through the line like the last try, however, he was able to score it himself. Sneyd converted to give Hull their biggest lead in the match, 24-16 to the hosts.

Despite their best efforts, Hull KR were unable to register any more points.ย  A Sneyd drop goal two minutes from time completed the 25-16 victory for Lee Radfordโ€™s side

GAME HIGHLIGHT

The victory for FC was a 100th for Lee Radford as coach of the West Hull side. He is a coach whoโ€™s had a lot of pressure put on him in previous years, however, his side look good making it two from two for the first time in five years.

There was also another milestone hit by Hull. Club captain Danny Houghton made his 350th appearance in his 32nd derby appearance. The hooker even crossed for a try on his return to the side.
