Round 6 Results

CASTLEFORD TIGERS GOALS: Milnes x1
HULL FC TRIES: Herman Eseโese (9โ), Aidan Sezer (28โฒ), Tom Briscoe (37′), Lewis Martin (43′)
HULL FC GOALS: Sezer x4
Hull FC carry on their form going into next week’s big clash with noisy neighbours Hull KR with a solid victory away to Castleford on Thursday night. Herman Ese’ese was the best player in that game by a big margin, taking men with him on every carry, offloading the ball and even getting a try to top it off and that was just the first 10 minutes. The black and whites were in control from minute one but took their foot off the gas and that saw the Tigers get two late tries that didn’t really scare Hull FC but showed weaknesses in their defence that they will need to fix if they want to be competing at the top again.
Warrington Wolves 16-14 Leeds Rhinos
WARRINGTON WOLVES TRIES: Arron Lindop (11โ), Stefan Ratchford (62′), Jake Thewlis (74′)
WARRINGTON WOLVES GOALS: Marc Sneyd x2
LEEDS RHINOS TRIES: James McDonnell (17โ), Riley Lumb (26โฒ), Ryan Hall (49′)
LEEDS RHINOS GOALS: Jake Connor x1
What a performance from Leeds Rhinos in the 5,000th Super League game, they were the better team and deserved the win. Wait, they didn’t win. Warrington showed their will to push through and earned the victory at home with a late Jake Thewlis try. It was a good contest that should have seen the Rhinos marching on together with two points but with 12 men in the final 10 minutes, that was the downfall of Leeds. It was a game of kicks and hard runs and the Rhinos were on top for a lot of it, but it also shows that the never give up attitude and the pushing hard for two points, it could be the year of the Wolf after all.
Leigh Leopards 14-40 Wakefield Trinity
LEIGH LEOPARDS TRIES: Umyla Hanley (18โ), Keenan Brand (26′), Frankie Halton (64′)
LEIGH LEOPARDS GOALS: Gareth O’Brien x1
WAKEFIELD TRINITY TRIES: Matty Russell (9โ, 80′), Mike McMeeken (12โฒ, 38′), Tom Johnstone (56′, 73′), Liam Hood (61′)
WAKEFIELD TRINITY GOALS: Mason Lino x6
Wakefield Trinity ruined the greatest show in Super League with a solid win at the Leopard’s Den. Matty Russell, Mike McMeeken and Tom Johnstone all scored two tries each including an amazing interception catch and sprint by the latter near the end of the contest. The second half really opened it up for the Trin as they scored 22 points in the final 24 minutes to secure their third win since returning to Super League this year, sitting them in Eighth.
Catalans Dragons 13-14 St Helens
CATALANS DRAGONS TRIES: Sam Tomkins (16โ, 35′)
CATALANS DRAGONS GOALS: Tomkins x2, Luke Keary DG
ST HELENS TRIES: Tristan Sailor (6โ, 9′)
ST HELENS GOALS: Mark Percival x2, Jonny Lomax DG x2
Jonny Lomax stole the show and the win from Catalans as his two drop goals in the last ten minutes secured the two points for the Red Vee. Tristan Sailor scored two quick fire tries in the first 10 minutes, but the Dragons hit back with two tries from Sam Tomkins to set up a tense contest going into the last 10 minutes. Lomax hit first, Luke Keary hit back and then Lomax struck the final blow to the up and down time the Dragons have been having nearly a fourth into the season.
Huddersfield Giants 4-50 Hull KR
HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS TRIES: George Flanagan Jr (14′)
HULL KR TRIES: Oliver Gildart (6′), Mikey Lewis (19′, 67′, 77′), Arthur Mourgue (30′), Jai Whitbread (51′), Jez Litten (57′), Sauaso Sue (65′), Tom Davies (79′)
HULL KR GOALS: Mourgue x7
Magic Mikey Lewis starred in the visit to Huddersfield as the Robins stay top of the league. The Man of Steel scored three tries and set up many more to carry on the undefeated run of 2025. Oliver Gildart opened the scoring but Huddersfield hit back with starlet George Flanagan Jr but that was as good as it got for the Giants as they fail to win for the sixth game in a row. The Robins scored eight unanswered tries to secure top spot going into the Hull Derby in the Challenge Cup next week.
Wigan Warriors 54-0 Salford Red Devils
WIGAN WARRIORS TRIES: Jake Wardle (10โฒ, 26โฒ, 78โฒ), Jai Field (23โฒ, 77โฒ), Junior Nsemba (30โฒ), Liam Marshall (44โฒ), Bevan French (50โฒ), Sam Walters (52โฒ), Zach Eckersley (59โฒ)
WIGAN WARRIORS GOALS: Harry Smith x7
The crisis at Salford continued on and off the pitch as Wigan scored 10 tries to rise from 6th to 3rd going into the week off for the Warriors. Salford had two major players refuse to take to the field including Captain Kallum Watkins and Chris Atkin. A hat trick from Jake Wardle, a brace from Jai Field and five other players getting on the scoresheet, it was a professional day from the Warriors and another day in Hell for the Red Devils.
