Marc Sneyd
And onto the player that divides opinion among Hull fans and neutrals-alike.
And onto the player that divides opinion among Hull fans and neutrals-alike.
On his day Marc Sneyd is the best scrum-half in Super League, as his record-breaking back-to-back Lance Todd Trophy wins prove. Unfortunately for FC it isn’t always his day, and in most games so far this season he has been totally absent when his side have needed direction in attack.
Radford desperately needs to find a way to get the best out of him consistently, because with him in top form, Hull are an entirely different proposition and one of the best sides in Super League.
It’s still early days of course but Hull need to get more wins on the board quickly.
Injuries have been particularly unkind so far but Radford won’t be using that as an excuse, and he may be disappointed with how what should be a deep squad has coped.
That said, their side should look far stronger as we head into summer and there’s no reason why the form of the last two years can’t be reached again.
The competition is tough with St Helens, Wigan, Leeds and Castleford all looking strong for a top four place, not to mention the start made by Wakefield.
Nevertheless, Lee Radford knows that pushing for a play-off place come September will be the minimum expected of his side.
