With the regular season over, the top eight is settled: Melbourne, Sydney Roosters, South Sydney, Canberra, Parramatta, Manly-Warringah, Cronulla-Sutherland and Brisbane.

What about the teams who finished ninth to sixteenth? Who was unlucky to miss out and who will be rebuilding over the off-season?

WESTS TIGERS (11-13) = Another heartbreaking season for the Tigers. Entering round 25, they needed to beat Cronulla-Sutherland at Leichhardt to make the finals (doubling as Robbie Farah’s farewell), but lost 25-8 to finish ninth. Wests never won more than two in a row, keeping them outside the eight for most of the season.
