Warrington Wolves put the pressure back on St Helens, after a 48-12 win over the London Broncos at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Here’s what happened in Friday night’s game.

MATCH DETAILS

A hat-trick from Tom Lineham, a double from Blake Austin and tries from Josh Charnley, Jason Clark, Ryan Atkins and Stefan Ratchford helped the Wire to victory.

The game started with London dominating the play but the Wolves defence held firm and in their first opportunity scoring in the corner through Lineham. However, Ratchford failed to add the extras.

After more end to end action, the home side were in again, this time in the opposite corner, through Charnley. However, Ratchford failed to add the kick again.

Five minutes before the half time hooter, it was the dummy specialist, Austin, getting through, scoring through a tight gap. Ratchford added the extras for his first goal of the night.

Moments before half time, after a loose kick into the in-goal, Jason Clark was first to respond and scored the fourth try and final try of the half, but his first for his new side. Ratchford added the extras on the hooter.

The second half started evenly matched but 10 minutes after the break, London got on the score board, after Nathan Mason managed to drive through to the line. Kieran Dixon added the extras.

Moments later, Wire extended their advantage after Ratchford was able to deal with the high ball and found a way through. However he couldn’t add the extras.

Then Atkins broke through the line and was able to score down the line, although nearly getting stopped short, he had the strength to get over.

Austin then got his second, showing his skill as he barged over the line.

Matty Gee then managed to get a second London try as he pushed through the Wire defence.

Lineham then finished off the game and his hat trick, scoring the last two tries. Firstly finding the strength to score in the corner and then he was able to find a way through to score his hat trick from distance.
