In an ANZ double header the Sharks and the Eels went into this match 0 in 2. The Sharks had an uninspiring win, leaving the Eels scratching their heads.
MATCH DETAILS
The Sharks won against the Eels 14 points to 4, finally obtaining their first points for the competition, leaving the Parramatta Eels 0 in 3.
FOUR POINTERS
Uninspiring Win
After a worrying two weeks, the Sharks finally came out on top in the second match of the ANZ double header on Saturday night. While a win is a win, it was an uninspiring one, and the Sharks still have work to do in order to be their best and keep their finals hopes alive.
Plenty of Improvement Left
Neither team played to the best of their abilities, leaving no doubt that both the Eels and the Sharks have plenty of work to do. It is only round three, so they can still keep their finals hopes alive if they work quickly to improve the overall performances and start winning more matches to climb the premiership ladder.
Eels Remained Slumped
The Eels are now one of three teams to be 0 in 3 to begin the season, and are in a bit of a slump. Parramatta only made two more errors than the Sharks, and overall had a solid game, however didnโt particularly look as though they were going to score any points. They face the Tigers next Monday night, and will be looking to improve and get their first competition points.
Hodkinson Stars
Over the summer, the Sharks signed Trent Hodkinson, and during the match against the Eels, he made his debut in the Cronulla colours, and was one of their best on field. He replaced Matt Moylan who was sidelined late due to an injury, and played a strong game, impressing the Cronulla team and their fans.
