TEAM FORM GUIDE

Parramatta Eels

Parramatta put in an error plagued effort last round to finish with a narrow 18-16 loss to the Mitchell Pearce led Newcastle Knights. The Eels horrible completion rate 26 from 37 and 13 errors didn’t help their chance, to lift themselves off the bottom of the ladder.ย  Though losing their past 3 they have been in a position to win their previous two.

Canterbury Bulldogs

The 14th placed Dogs were gallant against the 1st placed Rabbitohs last round, following their heart-breaking loss to the Raiders. Although going down 24-6 against the Rabbitohs, the Dogs were held up on three occasions, keeping them to 6 points.

SQUAD NEWS

Parramatta Eels

Kaysa Pritchard will come in to replace Cameron King at hooker. They will need to begin improving on their average season completion rate of 76% and 11 errors per game, maybe this game against another struggling team will get their season moving.

Canterbury Bulldogs

The past two weeks have shown improvement in the Bulldogs, and Coach Dean Pay will field the same side allowing the young halves to continue building their combination. Their average season completion rate of 78% and 10 errors per game is only sightly better than the 16th placed Eels

PREVIEW

Earlier this season, Round 10, the Bulldogs beat the Eels 20-12 in a dour game. The Dogs completion rate of 84% the difference between the two teams that day when still fielding Aaron Woods, Moses Mbye, and Kieran Foran.

Their new spine of Michael Lichaa at 9, Lachlan Lewis at 6, Marshall-King at 7 and Will Hopoate at 1 has reinvigorated the Dogs attack. Adding Rhyse Martin provides the Dogs a hard running backrower to support their Origin representative David Klemmer who is averaging career high metres per game.

The Eels will rely on lock Nathan Brown, if he can get going the Eels could begin moving off the back of his metres. Jarryd Hayne was close to best on ground last week, and the Eels will again look for him to have another big game.
