Earlier this week Nathan Cleary was banned for two matches and copped an additional fine for the TikTok drama that played out a few weeks back. Housemate Tyrone May added two to an already five match suspension for his part in the incident.
Being a Panthers fan I hope that Cleary can stay away from the bad influences around him and focus on playing footy. Matt Burton is likely to get his chance to shine after an impressive debut last August against the Sharks.
All eyes will be on what additional punishment Latrell Mitchell and Josh Addo-Carr may face following their firearm charges after their trip to Taree. If by chance Mitchell or Addo-Carr are found, (or plead) guilty, should they too be suspended and receive a heavier fine to match the one received by Nathan Cleary?
In my opinion, each incident is as bad as each other. Time will tell if the NRL apply the same bans to all three players.
