What is the deal with the Dragons?
Since “Mary” took over from Steve Price during the 2014 season the Dragons have made the finals twice and been knocked out in the first week. They start the season very well, but fall away around Origin.
The Dragons have a talented roaster with a lot of representative players but just can’t seem to keep any momentum up. With the off-field distraction of Jack de Belin’s court case coming up and the injury the new captain Cameron McInnes, set to miss 6-12 weeks, St George-Illawarra will struggle to get off to the hot start they’ve had in recent seasons.
Gareth Widdop is back in the UK with Warrington, but they gain Issac Luke and welcome back Trent Merrin.
Unfortunately forwards are not the problem at the Dragons and they need their halves to live up to their price tags.
