Super League’s 2019 Magic Weekend took place at Anfield for the first time, ending a four-year run at Newcastle’s St James’ Park. A combined attendance of 56,869 across the weekend was the second lowest since the event’s inception in 2007 but still created plenty of buzz around the sport. Two games were decided by just two points before local side St Helens closed out the weekend with a resounding 20-point win against Castleford with this year’s edition the first to pit teams against each other based on the previous season’s league position.
