Coach of the Year – Des Hasler

The return of Des Hasler to Manly in 2019 will go down as one of the biggest success stories of 2019.

He steered Manly to the second week of the NRL finals series and cleaned up the poor defence inherited by Trent Barrett. Manly’s 446 points conceded was their best defensive effort since Geoff Toovey’s 2014 side conceded just 399 points in the regular season.

With little change to his side heading into 2020, Hasler’s Manly will be a serious contender to take out the NRL title for the first time since 2011.
