London travel to Toronto in a crucial Qualifiers clash. Here’s everything you need to know…
SQUAD NEWS
Toronto Wolfpack
The Wolfpack have picked up two points from their two matches in the Qualifiers so far, with a hard-fought win at Halifax followed by defeat to Hull KR – a second consecutive defeat at the Lamport Stadium.
The Canadian side have not yet released their 19-man squad for the visit of London but it is likely to look similar to the one that appeared a fortnight ago, with a big pack for Paul Rowley’s side to possibly claim the two points against the Broncos.
London Broncos
London have a win and a loss on the board so far as well, with a last-gasp drop goal beating Super League Widnes before a high-scoring defeat at home to Leeds.
Danny Ward has made two changes to his 19-man squad for the trip to Canada, with starting half-back Api Pewhairangi dropping out along with Rob Butler, and Matt Gee and Will Lovell coming in.
London 19-man squad: Battye, Channing, Cunningham, Davis, Dixon, Evans, Gee, Harrison, Hellewell, Hindmarsh, Ioane, Kear, Lovell, Pelissier, Pitts, Sammut, Spencer, Walker, Williams.
HEAD TO HEAD
The two sides have met twice this season in the Championship, and currently stand at one-apiece.
London produced a major shock with a 47-16 home win over the Wolfpack back in February, but Toronto got their revenge in the reverse fixture with a 32-12 victory
KEY BATTLE – Ryan Brierley vs Jarrod Sammut
It’s the battle of the two half-backs, where former Leigh and Huddersfield starlet Brierley joined Toronto back when they formed at the beginning of 2017 and has been a key cog for the side.
Meanwhile, Sammut of London is one of the most skilful and consistent players in the Championship. He ran the show in the win at Widnes and will be looking to torment Toronto in the same way.
