There is widespread speculation that Cameron Smith has played his last game in rugby league despite having another season left on his contract. There is nothing that Smith hasn’t achieved at all levels of the game. He’s won the Dally M Player of the Year twice (2006, 2017) and went close in 2019 to winning a third. Smith won the Golden Boot in 2007 and 2017. He was also crowned the RLIF Player of the Year in 2012. Smith completed his 400th game with victory over the Cronulla Sharks. He skippered Melbourne to official Premiership wins in 2012 and 2017, Queensland during their famous eight consecutive series wins and Australia to the 2013 and 2017 World Cup victories. A record 2,602 points with 45 tries and 1209 goals to date at club level, Smith has been the most influential on-field player in the modern era. He will leave a huge legacy at the Melbourne Storm if he decides his time is up.

* It’s well documented that Cam Smith is considering his future post NRL season
