A second half surge has seen New South Wales remain undefeated in the Women’s State of Origin, in front 10,515 fans in a sold out North Sydney Oval.
Boosted by a home ground advantage and win to their Under 18’s team, two tries in 10 minutes saw them come back from behind to win 14 – 4.
The game remained even until a sharp step saw Queensland second rower Tazmin Grey storm over the line, helping Queensland lead 4 – 0 at half time.
New South Wales came out blaring in attack immediately in the second half, despite their first try attempt in the 35th minute being overruled.
Despite strong defence by Queensland, a strong pass by five-eighth Kirra Dibb saw Jess Sergis sprint at nearly 30km per hour to cross the line.
Within minutes the Blues were dominating field position, and in the 45th minute Shakiah Tungai scored out wide with the help Maddison Studdon preparing to kick but passing to centre Isabelle Kelly.
New South Wales sealed the match with one final try, after a quick step by Studdon saw her cross the line.
With plenty of current stars and up and comers, 2019 State of Origin has been a great insight into this years NRLW.
