Canberra (6-4) = Entering the season with high expectations after last year’s fairytale run, the Raiders struggled after the competition resumed, with three wins from seven games. Everyone wrote their premiership hopes off after the Melbourne loss, with Josh Hodgson and Bailey Simmonson gone for the season (joining Corey Horsbrough, Emre Guler, Sia Soliola and John Bateman on the sidelines). Nobody gave them a chance against the Roosters, but they toughed out a 24-20 win (easily their best of the year) to stay in the eight. With a decent run home, the Raiders should make the finals again.
