It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the shortened 20-round season. Let’s have a look at each team’s fortunes after 10 rounds.

Penrith (8-1-1) = Penrith have recovered from Nathan Cleary’s TikTok drama to lead the competition. They’ve claimed some big scalps: beating the Sydney Roosters, Melbourne, and seeing off a dogged Wests Tigers. The huge win over Cronulla was highlighted by a four-try display from debutant Charlie Staines. Though, because the world is upside down at the moment, Staines missed the next game by breaching strict COVID-19 protocols. Despite this setback, Penrith should give the premiership a mighty shake this year, on the 30th anniversary of their first grand final appearance.
