Here’s all you need to know about Round 17 of the NRL and Intrust Super Cup Round 13 results. Due due the Sydney COVID outbreak, the Knock On Effect NSW Cup was cancelled for Round 17.

  • July 5: NRL approve North Queensland Cowboys coach Todd Payten and player Griffin Neame to return to the squad after the recent Queensland COVID outbreak.
  • July 5: St George-Illawarra Dragons players receive breach notices for attending a party at Paul Vaughan’s place on July 3. Each player received a one match ban to be spread between four rounds, with the exception of Vaughan who received 8 matches. The fine amounts were: Blake Lawry ($20,000), Corey Norman ($50,000), Daniel Alvaro ($15,000), Jack Bird ($25,000), Josh Kerr ($18,000), Josh McGuire ($12,000), Kaide Ellis ($5,000), Matt Dufty ($23,000), Paul Vaughan ($50,000), Tyrell Fuimaono ($12,000), Zac Lomax ($31,000), Jack de Belin ($42,000), Gerard Beale ($2,000).
  • July 6: NRL Team News for Round 17 announced.
  • July 6: St George-Illawarra Dragons sack Paul Vaughan effective immediately.
  • July 6: James Fisher-Harris re-signs with Penrith Panthers (2026).
  • July 6: Sydney Roosters re-sign Daniel Tupou (2023) and Lindsay Collins (2026).
  • July 7: South Sydney’s Round 17 clash with North Queensland relocated from Stadium Australia to McDonald Jones Stadium to comply with QLD Public Health orders.
  • July 7: Gold Coast Titans sign Isaac Liu (2022).
  • July 7: Beau Fermor re-signs with Gold Coast Titans (2024).
  • July 7: Jeremy Marshall-King re-signs with Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs (2023).
  • July 7: Kobe Hetherington re-signs with Brisbane Broncos (2023).
  • July 8: Matt Timoko re-signs with Canberra Raiders (2024).
  • July 8: Tyson Gamble re-signs with Brisbane Broncos (2023).

  • July 10: State of Origin moved from Newcastle to CBUS Stadium on the Gold Coast with the New South Wales Government informing the NRL the game could not be held over crowd concerns around the COVID outbreak.
  • July 11: Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs sign Matt Dufty (2022).
  • July 11: NRL confirm that all New South Wales based clubs, New Zealand Warriors and Canberra Raiders will relocate to Queensland as the COVID outbreak escalates.
