Preview

Round One concludes with Castleford taking on Warrington at Headingley, two sides who will have been disappointed with their efforts in 2020. They played out a pair of incredibly tight matches last season which makes this one of the games to watch this weekend.

Daryl Powell has named a strong squad which includes summer recruits Niall Evalds and Jordan Turner with Liam Watts, George Griffin, Danny Richardson and Greg Eden all named despite missing the Tigers sole pre-season fixture.

Steve Price is forced to leave out star signing Greg Inglis who isn’t quite ready to make his rugby league comeback just yet. Blake Austin is fit enough to play after picking up a knock last week whilst Rob Butler and Robbie Mulhern are in-line to make their Wire debuts.

Prediction

Cas will have been disappointed with their 2020 campaign and will want to start the season on the front foot and get back to their free-flowing best. Similarly, Warrington seemed to fall away towards the end of last season and will be keen to end their wait for a Super League title. This should be a great game to conclude the weekend which I think the Tigers will snatch at the death.
