Former NRL premiership winning halfback has decided on his future.
Mitchell Pearce has decided to hang up the boots and retire from rugby league at the end of the 2023 Super League season.
The 34-year-old is currently playing with French side Catalans Dragons who are sitting second on the Super League ladder with two regular season games remaining.
In a statement, Pearce said “What a journey itโs been. I finish the game knowing I have given every bit of my heart and soul for nearly 18 years. Iโve had some amazing times and leave the game with friends I know Iโll have for the rest of my life.”
Pearce played 309 games in the NRL for the Sydney Roosters (winning premiership player in 2013) and Newcastle Knights before moving to Catalans Dragons in 2022. He represented New South Wales 19 times with his latest appearance coming in 2019.
He is the son of former Balmain Tigers stalwart, Wayne.
