Catalans Dragons have announced that captain and prop Remi Casty has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Stade Gilbert Brutus until at least 2020.

The France international, who was the first Frenchman to be named in the Super League Dream Team in 2012, became the Dragons’ all-time leading appearance maker this season, and has now made 264 Super League appearances and scored 25 tries.

Remi Casty said “I am proud and happy to extend my contract for two more seasons. The years go by but I still have the mental and physical freshness to give everything for the Dragons.”

“He is physically and mentally in a really good place, his application and desire to achieve success with the Dragons is there for everybody to see.

“As a senior player and captain, the influence he has is vital in helping us aim for consistency high levels of preparation and performance.”
