1. Johnathan Thurston – North Queensland Cowboys
It’s hard to go past Johnathan Thurston as the best halfback in the competition, and one of the top players in the NRL. While the Cowboys haven’t had a great season, sitting second last on the ladder, there is no doubt that Thurston works hard every game. He has made 16 try assists this year, ranking him second overall, following closely behind Ashley Taylor and Luke Keary. Thurston has also created 17 line break assists, the most of any player this season.
