This year the NRL season has had many surprises with familiar teams coming and going from finals contention in 2018, much of this year’s premiership contenders have recruited a high profile or experienced player to their roster.
Five rounds are left in the regular season and the new faces at their clubs have been crucial in the lead-up work, this is a look at five of those players who have been the best in 2018.
5. James Tedesco
Roosters high profile fullback James Tedesco has moved to the tri-colours club and improved their outfit massively. The Sydney fullback has the qualities of being a Roosters great with James recording 7 tries, 11 linebreaks and averaging 185 run metres in his first season, showing the NRL he’s only going to get better as combinations firm further. Tedesco has a well-rounded style of play being able to inject himself in the defensive line or saving tries all while exploding in the attacking plays which has seen him record 104 tackle breaks being nearly impossible, backing himself or putting his outside backs over for tries with his assists.
