As we approach the start of yet another new Super League season, let’s take a look at five players, under the age of 25, with less than 20 top-flight appearances to their name, hoping to make an impression in the competition in 2020.

Liam Byrne

Wigan Warriors 6ft 2in prop Liam Byrne made 14 appearances for Adrian Lam’s side last season and scored a try on his Super League debut against Hull FC at the DW Stadium.

The 20-year-old has also represented Ireland at international level and helped them qualify for the 2021 World Cup with a win against Italy.

He’s been handed the number 20 jersey this term, which suggests he will be given more opportunities to show what he can bring to Wigan’s forward line in 2020, an impressive rise for a player on dual-registration with Swinton Lions at the beginning of the season.
