Last Five Results: St Helens 50-14 Catalans (28/04/19), Catalans 18-10 St Helens (06/04/19), Catalans 22-26 St Helens (08/09/18), St Helens 16-35 Catalans (05/08/18), St Helens 26-12 Catalans (03/05/18)
Preview
St Helens take on Catalans Dragons at Emerald Headingley in Super League’s first game back since the league was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic more than four months ago.
James Graham is in line to make his first appearance in Super League since departing to the NRL almost a decade ago, having re-signed for Saints last month, and Mark Percival returns from a shoulder injury he picked up back in February.
Catalans Dragons will be without Sam Tomkins, who misses out through suspension, with David Mead, Lewis Tierney and Mickael Simon all injured for Steve McNamara’s side.
Prediction
While it’s been a long time since both teams played competitive rugby, Saints have lost their last three matches in all competitions in stark contrast to the Dragons who are on a three-game winning run. However, after a lengthy break from the sport due to Covid-19, and the addition of the six-again rule, I would expect Kristian Woolf’s men to take the two points in an exciting clash at Headingley.
