Hull KR have been boosted by the news that captain Shaun Lunt is only set to miss one month of the Super League season.

It was feared that the KR skipper was set to be out for a large chunk of 2018 after limping off two minutes into last Saturday’s defeat to Warrington Wolves, just two weeks after returning from another knee injury.

However, Tim Sheens and co now understand that the injury is not as severe as first thought, although it is possible that the 31-year old will miss their Magic Weekend derby against Hull FC on May 20 depending on his speed of recovery.

Lunt’s MCL injury and fellow hooker Tommy Lee’s hamstring injury means that the Robins are now in the market for a new specialist hooker and have some funds available for any possible player transfer.
