The fake news thatโ€™s actually fake.

The Brisbane Broncos’ weekend from hell has continued, losing to a combined Intrust Super Cup side on Sunday afternoon.

Intended to be a confidence builder after the horror loss to the Wests Tigers, Broncos coach Anthony Siebold arranged a practice game at Langlands Park.

Unfortunately, the Broncos lost 40-0.

Rather than criticise his team, Siebold praised the Intrust Super Cup side.

“Most of the Queensland Cup boys haven’t played footy since March, so they were really hungry. We just weren’t good enough. Again.”

Consequently, Seibold is putting the ISC team’s best players up for NRL selection for the rest of the season, starting with the Broncos’ home game against Melbourne on Friday night.

“We’ll probably get belted against Melbourne, so may as well give the Queensland Cup boys a go; at least they’ll have a dig and show some heart. We might even score a try.”
