Match Preview

Warrington have only lost one of their last six matches – the Challenge Cup semi-final to Castleford Tigers, and have won five Super League games in a row.

The 62-18 win against Salford Red Devils set the tone back in May and their 6-2 triumph over champions St. Helens was arguably the best defensive performance of any side in Super League this season.

Victories against Wakefield Trinity, Leigh Centurions and a 40-14 mauling on Wigan Warriors last time out put the Wolves in great stead, but Leeds also head into the game in good form.

The Rhinos thumped Castleford 60-6 in their biggest away win in recent memory two months ago. The Yorkshire side have had a whole host of fixtures suspended due to COVID-19, before a 38-12 victory at Salford preceded the 48-18 walkover of Leigh.

It’s hard to this one with both sides boasting deadly attacks and steely defences but, given that Warrington have won their last three home games against the Rhinos by an aggregate score of 106-24, I have a feeling that Warrington are going to emerge victorious. They aren’t third in the table for nothing and are unfortunate to not be higher in truth. Leeds will put up a fight, but the Wolves will have enough.
