The Canterbury- Bankstown Bulldogs successfully defeated the Brisbane Broncos in front of 7,421 passionate fans at ANZ Stadium, 10-7 on Thursday night.
Dogs do it for Des
The Bulldogs have been under pressure throughout the week with a lot of media attention due to speculation surrounding head coach, Des Hasler but it did not seem to faze them as last night as they defeated the Broncos at home by 3 points.
The Dogs ran out onto a very wet ANZ Stadium filled with determination and passion which lead to victory.
James Graham leads from the front
Captain James Graham lead from the front in the forwards after making huge metres throughout the game. Graham run 179 metres with teammate David Klemmer running a massive 266 metres throughout the game.
James Graham also made a try-saving tackle, stopping winger Corey Oates with a brilliant tackle to drag him out of the field of play. This gave the Bulldogs the scrum feed and stopped Broncos in their quest to score another try.
Debutant Matt Frawley impressesย
Without halfback Matt Frawley, the Bulldogs would of found it very difficult to defeat the Broncos.
His kicking game gave the Bulldogs the attack they have been searching for over the past four weeks. His attacking game also allowed Reynolds to demonstrate his passion for the game and play a bit more freely.
Jordan Kahu’s Brain Fade
Jordan Kahu’s brain fade allowed Bulldogs to gain momentum back.
Bulldogs were kicking the goal-line drop out, when they decided to go short but it went very short the kick bounced inside the 10 metre mark. Jordan Kahu with adrenaline pumping, picked up the ball and ran over the try-line thinking his team would be awarded 4 points but the Bulldogs were given a penalty after his brain fade as he is was offside.
