Salford strike quickly
After a tight opening 10 minutes, Salford opened up in attack and scored 3 tries in the next 10 minutes of the game, with Junior Sa’u having a hand in two of the three. The Salford attack were on fire and as clinical as they have been this season, and with Carney seamlessly slotting in for Michael Dobson, they were arguably even more potent in attack than usual. It was the initial intensity and accuracy from Salford that won them the game, as they pretty much put the game to bed after 20 minutes being 18-0 up. No doubt they are in top shape to challenge for the title, and second to Castleford, they are probably the most exciting side in the league.
Salford playmakers thrived off support
The likes of Carney, Lui and O’Brien were made to look all the better as a result of the Salford push through the middle and on the edges. Whenever the Red Devils made breaks through their playmakers, there was almost always a player in support on their shoulder. That kind of support is what made Salford so potent in attack, and ultimately what made the gap between the sides so big; Warrington rarely had players in support when the likes of Ratchford and Dwyer made breaks.
Woeful Warrington winless once more
Apart from a solid first ten minutes, in which it looked to be a tight game, Warrington never really challenged the Red Devils. They look like a team playing with very low confidence despite the positive messages coming out of the camp. They looked to have had a revival in the middle part of the season, but on closer inspection, they simply beat all the teams they should be doing with the side they’ve got. They need to change something, that’s for sure, because at this rate they are heading into the middle 8’s.
