Toulouse Olympique vs Widnes Vikings (Qualifiers, Sat, 5:00pm)
Toulouse got their first points on the board a fortnight ago with victory over Halifax, and that home form will continue to be crucial if they want a shot at the Million Pound Game.
That appears to be the best that Widnes can hope for, and they simply have to win on Saturday or they are relegated to the Championship in my view.
The Vikings haven’t won a league match since March, and although they should certainly be competitive against a second tier outfit, Toulouse possess the flair and skill that they have been badly lacking.
Prediction: Toulouse Olympique 26-16 Widnes Vikings
Toronto Wolfpack vs London Broncos (Qualifiers, Sat, 5:30pm)
This is another Qualifiers clash with massive implications, and after a win and a defeat in their opening two games both of these Championship sides are right in the hunt for not only the top five but possibly the top three.
London have been the more impressive of the two so far, defeating Super League Widnes and belatedly putting plenty of points on Leeds, while Toronto struggled to victory at Halifax and then lost at home to Hull KR.
The Wolfpack look a little less mighty at the Lamport Stadium after two consecutive home defeats, but if they put the small things right they are a better side then the Broncos. This could be a tight one but Toronto will take it.
Prediction: Toronto Wolfpack 32-16 London Broncos
Castleford Tigers vs Catalans Dragons (Super 8s, Sat, 7:30pm)
The final piece of Super 8s action sees Catalans return from their heroics to face a Castleford side who look to have made their place in the top four safe after beating Warrington two weeks ago.
They will fancy their chances of a home semi-final still and will no doubt recognise that Challenge Cup winners tend to fade after their success – and on this occasion, with the Dragons making such considerable history and now having nothing to play for in Super League, it looks even more likely.
Prediction: Castleford Tigers 42-12 Catalans Dragons
Halifax vs Salford Red Devils (Qualifiers, Sun, 3:00pm)
http://gty.im/932929836
Salford have been the big surprise of the Qualifiers so far, and they head the table after comfortable wins over fellow Super League sides Hull KR and Widnes Vikings.
Nothing is safe yet but they will be one step closer if they can see off part-time Halifax, whose record is the opposite as they prop up the ladder after two defeats to Championship opposition.
They are struggling creatively and Salford’s defence will be another tough nut to crack, so any points would be a positive for them. The Red Devils won’t take anyone lightly but they should get the job done.
Prediction: Halifax 6-24 Salford Red Devils
