LAST TIME OUT

Leeds were beaten for the fourth time this season by Castleford in a 38-24 loss at The Jungle. The Rhinos opened the game through a Watkins try before the Tigers added five tries before the break in an impressive spell. Scores from Eden, Webster, Foster and a brace from Roberts. Leeds added a try from JJB after the break before Minikin added another for Castleford. A further two tries from Parcell and Garbutt added hope for Leeds but it was too little, too late.

Salford were convincing winners over Huddersfield running in a nine-try display and beating the Giants 52-14. By half-time, the Red Devils were leading 30-4 through tries from McCarthy, Vatuvei, Evalds and a Kris Welham double gave the hosts the lead before McGillvary gave Huddersfield a slim chance. Vatuvei and Bibby added further scores straight after the break before Roberts added a second try for the Giants. Murdoch Masila and Jones added tries number eight and nine in what was a great night for Salford.

KEY BATTLE

Tonight’s match will be an interesting line-up in the backs. Leeds have gone with their usual group of Briscoe, Watkins, Sutcliffe and Hall and Salford have added some size with Murdoch Masila and Sau in the centres and Bibby and Vatuvei as their wingers. Whether their fatigue will show towards the end of the game, only time will tell.

SQUAD NEWS

Leeds welcome back Rob Burrow from suspension as well as Brett Ferres and Joel Moon from injury. Jack Walker is out with a hamstring injury so Ashton Golding replaces him at fullback.

Micahel Dobson, Olsi Krasniqi and Todd Carney are all still injured for the Red Devils but they do have George Griffin back for the trip to Headingley.
