Elliot Wallis and Justin Carney come in as cover for Shaw, yet Carney faces a late fitness test in the team’s final run. Chris Clarkson also returns to the squad after missing last weeks victory of Salford.

Hull KR 19-man squad: Quinlin, McGuire, Scruton, Lunt, Masoe, Blair, Greenwood, Kavanagh, Donaldson, Clarkson, Lee, Mulhern, Salter, Atkin, Oakes, Tickle, Carney, Wallis, Tomkins.

HEAD TO HEAD

Hull KR have enjoyed the best of the spoils in this fixture recently, with five wins in the past six meetings including a 31-12 victory earlier this year.

Hull KR also come into the game with the form on their side with three wins and a draw in their last six games, including a 52-22 demolition of Salford Red Devils.

Rooted at the foot of the table, Widnes find themselves without a league win since round 7, yet since the introduction of Francis Cummings, performances have seen an improvement.

KEY BATTLE- Joe Mellor v Danny McGuire

Last week’s hat-trick confirmed the importance of McGuire to the Hull KR team, his quality still shining through at the age of 35 whereas Mellor has grown into a leader on the pitch for the Vikings as one of their most senior players.

Joe Mellor tops the Vikings assists charts with 11 while also crossing for 4 tries himself. McGuire has registered 5 tries and 9 assists as his form continue from last years grand final masterpiece.

Vital in the attacking cogs of their respective teams, given a platform to perform on both these players could be the matchwinner in this must-win bottom four clash.
