Venue: Totally Wicked Stadium
Kick-off: Friday 18th September, 6pm

Head-to-Head

Last Five Results: Catalans 30-14 Salford (07/03/20), Salford 40-14 Catalans (21/07/19), Catalans 0-46 Salford (09/03/19), Catalans 44-10 Salford (21/07/18), Salford 12-26 Catalans (20/05/18)

Preview

The first of two quarter-finals to take place at Totally Wicked Stadium sees Catalans take on Salford. The Dragons were victorious in this competition in 2018 with the Red Devils last Challenge Cup win coming in 1937/38.

Steve McNamara recalls Sam Moa, Micky McIlorum and Josh Drinkwater to his squad, but will be without David Mead and Tom Davies.

Ian Watson could hand a debut to Kallum Watkins, who joined the club earlier this month. With Chris Atkin and Dan Sarginson both recalled, Niall Evalds and Lee Mossop are both missing.

Prediction

The return of Kallum Watkins to his hometown club is exciting for Super League but might not be enough to send Salford through who need to shore up their defence. Catalans were disappointing in defeat to Wigan last time out but have largely impressed since the restart and I expect them to reach the last four on Friday night.
