Venue: DW Stadium
Kick-off: Thursday 30th January, 7:45pm

Head-to-Head

Last Five Results: Wigan 20-6 Warrington (16/8/19), Wigan 14-26 Warrington (25/5/19), Warrington 26-24 Wigan (12/5/19), Warrington 25-12 Wigan (15/3/19), Wigan 12-4 Warrington (13/10/18)

Key Stat

Wigan are kicking off the Super League season for the second campaign running, losing to bitter rivals St Helens in the season opener last term, with Warrington playing in the joint season-opening game in 2018 when they were beaten at home by Leeds Rhinos. They last met in the opening game of a Super League season back in 2007 with Warrington claiming a 16-10 win at the home of the Warriors meaning history is on Wire’s side.

Prediction

Predicting a winner is tricky given the significant changes both sides have made to their squad in the off-season, but Adrian Lam’s Wigan side showed better form at the back end of last season and should have just about enough to see off the Wolves in what should be a cracking way to kick-off the 2020 season.
