Preview

Hosts Salford take on League leaders Warrington at the AJ Bell Stadium on Tuesday evening as Wire look to extend their winning run to 10 matches in all competitions, although both teams may have an eye on their Challenge Cup tie this weekend.

Ian Watson recalls Lee Mossop, Ryan Lannon and James Greenwood, but as expected has rested his key players with Ed Chamberlain, Kris Welham, Kevin Brown, Joey Lussick and Gil Dudson. Loan signings Tom Gilmore and Oliver Ashall-Bott could be handed debuts.

Steve Price has opted to rest Blake Austin, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Mike Cooper, Chris Hill, Jack Hughes, Jake Mamo, Joe Philbin and Gareth Widdop ahead of their cup semi-final against the Red Devils this weekend. Sitaleki Akauola and Stefan Ratchford both return.

Prediction

With both sides making so many changes an intriguing contest awaits on Tuesday evening. Salford’s squad looks marginally stronger on paper which should give them the edge to end Warrington’s unbeaten run. However, Wire have plenty of threat in both Ratchford and Declan Patton and will want to cement their place at the top of the Super League table.
