A big crowd turned out in Brisbane to watch the Broncos take on the Rabbitohs in a top of the table clash. Despite missing Payne Haas, the Broncos found metres easy to come by early. Inside the first five minutes, Cameron Murray was sin-binned for a professional foul when he took out Billy Walters on a kick chase. The Broncos opted to take the two points.

With Murray off the field, the Rabbitohs found the perfect response. Lachlan Ilias grubbered in behind the line and Campbell Graham regathered to score the opening try. A frantic period of play followed, as the Broncos exposed the man advantage. A cut-out pass from Adam Reynolds to Jesse Arthurs setup the Broncos first try. Reynolds was again involved just minutes later as Selwyn Cobbo went close to scoring, but the Rabbitohs held firm long enough for Murray to return.

With the scores locked at 6 all, the two sides traded sets back and forth for 20 minutes as the intensity rose. In the shadows of halftime, the Rabbitohs produced a play off the scrum for Campbell Graham to grab his second try and a 12-6 lead.

The Rabbitohs jumped out of the blocks fast in the second half. A cross field kick from Cody Walker drew an error out of Jesse Arthurs. Latrell Mitchell cleaned up the scraps and powered his way into the in-goal to score. Following the try, Herbie Farnworth was sin-binned for tripping. With the Broncos a man down, Campbell Graham completed his hat-trick of tries when Taane Milne made a break and found Graham supporting inside.

Graham continued to be a thorn in the Broncos side, as he setup a try with a touch pass back inside to Cody Walker. Trailing by 22, the Broncos refused to give up, but an intercept to Isaiah Tass snuffed out any chance of a comeback. In the following set, Latrell Mitchell grabbed his second try cleaning up the scraps of his own kick. The Rabbitohs owned the last 10 minutes, as they ran away with a convincing 32-6 victory.
