MATCHDAY PREVIEW

The Sharks proved they are one of the teams to beat this season in their victory over the Roosters at Magic Round. The first half saw the two sides go try for try as they both flexed their premiership muscle, with the Sharks six points behind going into halftime. The second half was where the Sharks really came alive, with cult favourite Tom Hazelton scoring the final try to put the result beyond doubt.

The question for the Sharks is, can they back up last week’s impressive performance? It’s the perfect week for them to play the Panthers as the reigning premiers are missing some key players. The Sharks have a full-strength side, with Braydon Trindell named as a reserve.

The Panthers were close to beating the Warriors, but it wasn’t to be. Despite missing Nathan Cleary and Brad Schneider, the Panthers are still formidable. Jerome Luai moved into the number seven jersey and was one of the stars for his side. Luai, along with Isaah Yeo will need to be at their best going up against a Sharks team who have won seven in a row.

After returning from injury on the bench last week, Scott Sorenson has been named in the starting side, with Liam Henry on the bench. Luke Garner, who started in the second-row last week, has not been named.
