Parramatta held on with a two man bench to trump the Dragons, the score of 24-10 probably not a reflection of the Eelsโ€™ dominance.

Kaysa puts it all on the line
Kaysa Pritchard was left in a horrible sort in an unfortunate incident in which he was stretchered off with a ruptured ACL, an injury that will end his season and one in general that nobody ever wants to see. Kaysa hasnโ€™t had the lucky run with injuries brother Frank has had, and even this season โ€“ which probably has been his least interrupted โ€“ has been no good by way of injury, and itโ€™s only been made worse tonight. His play is so physical and determined and itโ€™s such a shame to see his career undermined.

Parra beneficiary of the Gutho non trade
The word on the street is that the Eels were trying to swap Clint Gutherson for Mitchell Moses. Moses has done an okay job at Parramatta but Gutherson has been the true star and it was the case again against the Dragons. Gutherson claimed a very easy 216 running metres and didnโ€™t miss a trick, also scoring a double and breaking six tackles. Maybe now we would have this conversation about the Tigers if Gutherson was traded there.

Dragons disappoint again 2015 style
The Dragons were flying in 2015 for the most part during the first half of the season and were top of the table for a while too. Same here. In 2015 it would not last as they crashed and burned through the middle of the season. Same here. They squeaked in to the eight after riding enough of that early season form but were dumped by the Bulldogs round one of finals. So what is their destiny this year? Weโ€™ll just have to watch and find out.

Discipline showing from both sides
There was only a total of six penalties all game, and only a single penalty from the Dragons coming from a probably wrong โ€œcrusherโ€ call. The discipline was very impressive considering it wasnโ€™t due to the usual shoddy refereeing missing calls weโ€™ve grown accustomed to in the league โ€“ it was a genuinely brilliant, clean performance from both sides and in an otherwise fairly unexciting game it was brilliant to see.
