Souths Logan Magpies were the most traveled team in 2015, taking many of their home games to new locations including Stradbroke Island and Cherbourg, so it would almost feel like a homecoming in 2016 to have all their home games scheduled at Davies Park.

Former Origin player Josh Hannay remains at the helm of the Magpies, this the second year of their association with the Broncos after a long one with the Canberra Raiders. The link with the Broncos is solid, with Broncos coach Wayne Bennett a former player and coach before heading to Sydney. Bennett showed his faith in the ISC and Magpies when he placed star under 20โ€™s halfback Ashley Taylor at Souths Logan for a stint which coincided with a better run of form for the club.

With the rich nursery of talent from the Logan area at the Broncos disposal, the Magpies may reap the benefits if there are players in need of a stint in the Intrust Super Cup, and even more promising if the Under 20 national competition is scrapped.

For 2016 Francis Fifita (no relation), once regarded as the next Sonny Bill Williams from his Keebra Park days, is a new inclusion from the Gold Coast Titans NYC team. Another new recruit in the Fifita Brothers mould is Herman Eseโ€™ese, who has been recruited from Canterbury where he played one NRL game last year.

Key Matches:
Round 1โ€™s clash against the PNG Hunters. If they break their duck it will start the season off right.
A good start at home is key as they have 6 home games in the first 8 rounds.
