Thursday nights are back in the championship as Swinton travel to one of their homes from home to take on Leigh Centurions as one of the two fixtures both side will face over the Easter period.

Leigh come into this fixture on the back of a comprehensive victory over Workington in the fourth round of the challenge cup. It seen the Leythers 32-0 up after the opening quarter which seen them run in six tries against Town. They ended up with a 68-14 victory, Cory Paterson scoring four tries and they will be looking to carry that momentum going into the hectic Easter period. Head coach Neil Jukes spoke about the busy Easter schedule and said “I said to the guys that a lot of Super League teams play Sunday and then play Thursday, so itโ€™s only the same turnaround. We’ll go out to win the game against Swinton on Thursday, monitor where we are at with our injuries, who is good and who is not, and the team might pick itself on Monday. There might be some tough choices to be made but I’m not taking my eye off any of these games.โ€

Swinton are still looking for their first win of the season and head coach John Duffy will be hoping it is coming soon. The lions have come close in recent weeks and will be ruing not taking their half time lead at Sheffield last week and turning into a result at the hooter. The lions led 18-10 at half time and held that lead until the final few minutes until a Cory Aston try knocked them out of the cup. Duffy spoke about the fixture sayingย โ€œIt will be another tough one at Leigh, weโ€™ve just got to go there and enjoy ourselves. Itโ€™s a good chance for the younger lads to put themselves in the shop window in front of these big clubs and all these ex-NRL and international players
