Match Preview – Leigh Centurions v Bradford Bulls
When the 2016 fixtures were released nine months ago many will have looked at this one and thought this well could have been a league decider but the season hasn’t played out this way and this could well rule the Bulls out of the Super 8’s and the race for Super League. The Bulls currently sit 5th one point outside the top 4 but defeat on Sunday could see them three points behind with only three rounds to go.
Leigh strengthened their league leader ambitions with an impressive victory against London Broncos down in the Capital. They defeated the Broncos 38-12 with tries coming from Josh Drinkwater, Cory Paterson (2), Greg Worthington (2), Liam Kay and Adam Higson. Lee Smith kicked five goals. The game was over as a contest at half time as they lead 28-0 at the break.
The Bulls had a shock defeat at Osdal on Sunday as they lost 24-32 against Halifax and the scoreline suggestes it was closer than it was. Tries came from Kieran Moss, Kurt Haggerty, Kris Welham and Ethan Ryan and Danny Addy kicked all four conversions but it wasn’t enough as the Bulls fell to a home defeat and their top four ambition are rocking.
Prediction – Leigh are firm favourites for this one especially at LSV. Centurions by 14.
