North Queensland’s new stadium will host the Queensland derby between the Cowboys and Broncos in round 1 of the 2020 NRL competition.

It’s likely to be an expected 25,000 sell-out on Friday March 13 at the Cowboys new ground.

The opening fixture of the season will be played at Bankwest Stadium between Sydney sides Parramatta Eels and Canterbury Bulldogs.

Defending premiers Sydney Roosters will travel to Penrith on Saturday evening, while the Canberra Raiders host Gold Coast at GIO Stadium on Friday.

The full 2020 season draw is released this Tuesday.
