Oldham’s cup run is over and their focus will switch back to league survival as they welcome current league leaders Leigh Centurions to Bower Field.

The Roughyeds did nothing but enhance the division’s reputation as they pulled off a shock win against Hull KR in their own back yard earlier in the competition. They couldn’t repeat their heroics against a very strong Warrington side. Despite the 10-70 defeat against the Wolves it took the visitors until the 32nd minute to take the lead. The part time side scored the first and last try of the contest but unfortunately Warrington ran 13 tries during that period. Michael Ward and Gareth Owen scored in the 8th and 80th minute for the home side.

Leigh’s last fixture came against Batley and they may have lead by 13 points with 25 minutes to go but there was a huge sense of relief over LSV as the full time hooter went. That’s because with three minutes to go they were behind with a score of 25-30. But two converted tries in the final minutes gave them the win. Lee Smith and Sam Hopkins with the scores in the final minutes to secure victory.
