Whitehaven v Dewsbury Rams Preview

Heading into the second half of the season these two sides will be well and truly trying to look ahead instead of looking behind them. Haven sit eleventh and Dewsbury sit ninth both sitting on eight points. The early season reverse fixture between these two earlier in Round 4 saw a 20-4 victory in the favour of the Rams but both sides have come a long way since then and a tighter affair should be on the cards this Saturday Night. (6.30pm)

Haven welcomed Featherstone Rovers to the Recreation Ground in a rearranged game from round three  Rovers came away with a 44-22 victory mainly thanks to a Misi Taulapapa first half hatrick and Former St Helens & Hull star Jamie Foster kicking 8 from 8 with the boot. One good point for Haven came as it saw experienced winger Craig Calvert take the try scoring club record from David Seeds. Craig’s two tries took him onto 227 tries in 302 games for Haven.

Dewsbury welcomed Wigan in the Challenge Cup last weekend. They fell to a 4-54 defeat against the Super League side. Josh Charnley starred as he scored two tries and kicked 7/8 goals for the Warriors. The only points for the rams came from stand off Paul Sykes as he crossed in the 23rd minute but he couldn’t add the conversion.
